Throughout the month of May

Myrtle Beach proudly salutes the men and women who have served our country with a meaningful lineup of Military Appreciation Days events. This long-standing tradition brings the community together to celebrate, honor, and remember our nation’s heroes.

Festivities include a patriotic parade along Ocean Boulevard featuring veterans, active-duty military, marching bands, and community groups. Families can also enjoy a Memorial Day picnic at The Market Common, complete with live music, military exhibits, and interactive displays.

A powerful highlight of the week is the Jack Platt Veterans’ March, taking place May 27 at 9 a.m. The march travels from 16th Avenue North to 9th Avenue North along Ocean Boulevard and concludes with a moving Battlefield Cross Ceremony, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Adding to the week’s events, the 43rd Annual National Retired Military Golf Classic will be held May 26–31, 2026, in Myrtle Beach. This special tournament welcomes retired military personnel and their spouses for several days of camaraderie, fellowship, and friendly competition on the Grand Strand’s beautiful golf courses. The event is hosted by the National Retired Military Golf Classic, an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) charitable organization that donates a portion of its proceeds each year to respected nonprofits including the Fisher House Foundation, the USO, Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC), and Folds of Honor.

Join us in Myrtle Beach as we honor service, celebrate freedom, and come together as a community in remembrance and gratitude.
