Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence!
There will no shortage of events for our nation’s birthday in Myrtle Beach. From firework shows to 4th of July celebrations, we have your holiday festivities covered!
Fireworks Show
Remember to bring your beach chairs and blankets for these spectacular displays.
If you are in Myrtle Beach on the 4th of July, there are so many activities planned from m the Salute to the Shore to watching the night sky light up in celebration of independence. So if you’re planning to spend the fourth of July in Myrtle Beach, plan the evening watching a fabulous fireworks show. Find your spot in the sand to watch the night sky light up.
Fireworks schedule:
2nd Avenue Pier – Beginning at 10 pm, plan to enjoy fireworks over the ocean in downtown Myrtle Beach on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
Broadway at the Beach – Head to Broadway by 10 pm to enjoy the sky light up over Lake Broadway for an unforgettable fireworks show.
Barefoot Landing – Pick you place by 10 pm for the lighting up the night sky with an impressive fireworks display!
Cherry Grove Pier – Head to the beach by 9:30 pm to enjoy the fireworks over the ocean. Bring a chair or blanket to watch the show from the shore! Get there early to find you perfect place in the sand!
Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk – Head down south by 10 pm to the quiet little fishing town of Murrells Inlet for a magnificent fireworks display over the marsh.
4TH OF JULY EVENTS
With all that Myrtle Beach offers, there’s never a shortage of things to especially during the week of the 4th of July.
Here are some 4th of July events in Myrtle Beach that you can add to your vacation itinerary:
- Red, White, & Blue 5K at Barefoot Landing: Participate in the 5th annual Red, White & Blue 5K on July 1st at the Crooked Hammock Brewery. Dress in your patriotic gear and enjoy the race. Kids can also join in a 50-yard dash.
- 4th of July Independence Day 5K: Take part in the 14th annual Independence Day 5K Race on July 4th at The Market Common near Grand Park Lake. Dress in costume for a chance to win prizes. Other running events include an Uncle Sam's 1-Mile Fun Run, Stars and Stripes Kids' Dash, and a 1-Mile Doggie Walk.
- Murrells Inlet Boat Parade: Witness the 39th annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade on July 4th at 6 p.m. The parade starts at Garden City and travels through the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk, ending at the Hot Fish Club.
- Salute from the Shore: Head to the beach on July 4th at 1 p.m. to witness an impressive flyover of F-16s and C-17s in South Carolina. The Salute from the Shore flyover begins at Cherry Grove and continues down the coast. Wear your patriotic outfit and join the crowds in saluting from the shore.
