The Great American Solar Eclipse - August 21, 2017

On Monday, August 21, 2017, Myrtle Beach and our surrounding area will get to witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring celestial events - a total solar eclipse! The path of the eclipse, where the moon will completely cover the sun, will be able to be seen coast to coast, from Oregon to South Carolina. This is truly an event you don’t want to miss and will probably not be able to witness again in your lifetime!!!

The last total solar eclipse to cross the United States from coast-to-coast was 99 years ago in 1918. What a cosmic treat for us to be a part of now. Come experience the miraculous event while staying in one of Booe Realty’s fabulous vacation rentals!

How to View the Eclipse

The eclipse will be viewable during a small window of time, from about 1:18 PM, until 2:47 PM EST. While the immediate Myrtle Beach area won't be able to enjoy a total solar eclipse, the views of the partial solar eclipse are guaranteed to be breathtaking. Myrtle Beach & Georgetown, SC will still experience solar coverage in the 99% range!

Solar Eclipse Glasses

According to NASA, "The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun is through special-purpose solar filters, such as “eclipse glasses.”

Here's some great news for all Booe Realty guests staying with us during the Eclipse: You'll receive a two free pair of eclipse glasses per reservation! So hit the beach, sit back, grab a beach chair, face the south, look up and enjoy!! Contact our main office or click here for additional details.
