Spring is in the air in Myrtle Beach
Posted by booeadmin | Monday, April 7, 2014

Good Afternoon from warm sunny Myrtle Beach!  We have finally reached the spring season with temps up in the 80’s and now are gearing up for the summer!  We have a lot of changes going on for the 2014 vacation season.  To now serve you better and give lifeguards a better scope of the shoreline, tents and large umbrellas have been reduced to a sensible size.  Some tents are not allowed in certain areas and umbrellas are reduced to a comparable size.

Also this year, the new North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex has officially opened.  This past weekend marked the beginning of some of the events for this year beginning with the World Cup Quidditch tournament.

Check out the upcoming venues here.  Schedule of events.

The Ripken experience is lining up a few tournaments too.  To get more info, click on the link,  to see the upcoming schedule.
Also going on at the beach are new rides and shops opening up.  The Rocket Flyer towering to 180-feet high that passersby might have already spotted going up at Broadway at the Beach that is replacing the old swings.  Other new rides include Speed, Freak-Out and the Giant Slide, a dry slide that stands 65 feet tall and 180 feet long.
Also, some new shops to open for the summer at Broadway at the Beach, in addition to the rides, are:
Rooster Bar & Grill and will be located right at the entrance to Celebrity Square
Vividelle a boutique specializing in women’s clothing, shoes and accessories
Designer Sunglasses sells eyewear and accessories.
So Unique is an embroidery gift shop that will open this spring
Kryptonite Character Store, sells comic book, cartoon, movie and TV show merchandise.  I do believe one is already located with the Barefoot Landing Shopping Center.
Coastal Carolina Winery sells traditional wines including merlot, cabernet and chardonnay.
Other events going on along the Grand Strand are”
May 10-  Mayfest on Main Festival
May 3- Rivertown Music and Craft Beer Festival
There is always something going on in Myrtle Beach and April is not a boring month.  With Earth Dayevents, Spring Breakers, Easter events and Pelican’s baseball, there is more to do than time to do it in!
