Hidden Treasures of Myrtle Beach

Finally, we are seeing sunny and 70 something! Spring is finally arrived and hopefully, will stick around. I don’t know about you, but this beautiful sunny weather has us ready to plan some beach days. Since winter has finally been shown the door, we are gearing up for a fabulous season with a lot of visitors taking advantage of beach time now. Even though it isn’t officially vacation season, Myrtle Beach is still a warm, friendly place to visit anytime.
Quite a few folks that come down this time of year to enjoy the quiet beaches and less traffic also like to “live like a local” while they are here. Along with that, they prefer to dine like one as well. As you know, Myrtle Beach has no shortage of restaurant options, but there are also some hidden treasures that are best known to the locals.
So, we comprised a list of some of the best eats in Myrtle Beach a little off the beaten path.
Crab Catchers – 4474 Water Front Ave, Little River, SC 29566. A relaxed dockside bar & grill offering a simple menu of seafood, steaks & sandwiches plus patio dining.
Horry’s Restaurant – 1155 Hwy 9 E, Longs, SC 29568. A relaxed dockside bar & grill offering a simple menu of seafood, steaks & sandwiches plus patio dining.
Chris’s Pizza and Pub - 170 Surfrider Blvd, Longs, SC 29568. As a locals favorite, Chris' Pizza and Pub offers pizza, subs, wings, and more along with a full bar. Dine-in, Pick-up, and Delivery is available.
Jay’s Asian Fusion - 2186 S.C. 9 E., Longs, SC 29568. Hibachi to sushi, General Tso’s Chicken to Ton Yum Goong soup. Prompt service and authentic flavors make this spot worth the small trek from the beach.
Patios - 4495 Mineola Ave, Little River, SC 29566. A roomy deck on the water is a highlight of this colorful spot with food, TVs, live music & karaoke.
Rockefellers Raw Bar - 3613 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Casual eatery known for seafood cooked in steam kettles has a full bar with happy-hour specials.
The Parson’s Table – 4305 State Rd S-26-850, Little River, SC 29566. Thoughtfully sourced American dishes come in a former church with stained-glass windows.
The Brentwood - 4269 State Rd S-26-852, Little River, SC 29566. Special-occasion option for French cuisine & Lowcountry fare offered in a 1910 home with a full bar. (It is rumored this place is haunted. The Brentwood was even featured on paranormal)
Sea Blue - 501 Highway 17 North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Sleek, contemporary venue with a patio featuring elevated steak & seafood dishes & a full bar.
Blueberry Grill – 7931 N. Kings Hwy, MB, SC 29572. Creative breakfast & brunch fare is offered in a casually stylish, modern space with a patio.
Fire and Smoke – 411 79th Ave N. MB, SC 29572. Gastropub offering handcrafted cocktails along with upscale American snacks, small plates & entrees.
Lulu’s Cafe – 1903 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Classic American breakfast and lunch spot.
Travinia Italian Kitchen – 4011 Deville St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 . Large selection of Italian food

CO Sushi – 3098 Deville St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Local sushi spot featuring uniquely inspired dishes with robust flavors and handcrafted cocktails.
Croissants Bistro & Bakery – 8014 North Kings Highway Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. Comfort food menu for breakfast, brunch & lunch, plus breads, pastries & cakes baked daily.
Hook and Barrel - 8014 N Kings Hwy Suite B, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. Sustainable food & local produce in an eco-friendly restaurant from the kitchen to the front of the house.
Fiesta Mexicana – 410 70th Ave. North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. Festive quarters back up an eclectic Mexican menu & a tequila bar.
Margaritas Mexican Restaurant - 9906 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. A lengthy menu of Mexican & Tex-Mex family recipes served in casual, brightly colored quarters.
Handley’s Pub and Grub - 3873 Renee Drive, Myrtle Beach 29577. Excellent wings, tasty burgers and some specialty dishes that complement the extensive beer selection nicely.
Little Pigs BBQ - 6102 Frontage Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Barbecue lovers may have to follow their noses to find this little corner cafe in a strip mall off Highway 17 Bypass, but the search is worth the reward.
KindBelly Cafe - 316 79th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. Grab-&-go option featuring health-minded fare, including breakfast, bowls, wraps & smoothies.
OFF THE STRAND
Crady’s Eclectic Cuisine on Main - 332 Main St., Conway, SC 29526. As one of the few places that serve up a real Sunday brunch on the beach, Crady’s food is just as they describe it. Eclectic.
This is only a small list of locally owned eateries that you will only find on the Grand Strand. All you have to do is veer off the beach a little and you can find one of these tasty treasures hidden away.
